The Jewish Project, Sunday Nov. 3

25.00

The Jewish Project is a portrait of a Jew through ice cream and storytelling. Jared Goodman weaves personal stories of being a Jew with Jewish history and culture, exploring themes of identity, secularism vs traditionalism, the writings of Isaac Bashevic Singer and Abraham Joshua Heschel, plus some klezmer music too. Pairing storytelling with handmade and inspired ice cream desserts, he aims to combat the spread of anti-Semitism and educate Oregonians on Judaism and Jewishness.

This performance will take place at Kachka, a popular Portland restaurant known for its creative Russian cuisine. This show will take place on a Sunday afternoon. Guests may arrive at 1:30pm and our show begins promptly at 2pm. The $25 ticket includes storytelling, dessert, and tea. Seating is limited.

*The drawing of dancing Jewish women is by Jared’s mom, the artist, Jeanne Goodman.
