A few years ago I rediscovered my love for puppetry while attending a "puppet slam" in SE Portland. Growing up in the 80's I loved Fraggle Rock, Sesame Street, and The Labyrinth. Yet as I aged, I came to associate puppets with children... and boy, was I wrong! It turns out that Portland has a thriving puppetry scene and community. Moreover, there are numerous styles of puppetry, each elevating the craft of storytelling.
Morgan St Theater is thrilled to host another puppetry pop-up! This collaboration with Beady Little Eyes will explore different styles and stories, performed by local puppeteers.
This pop-up will be hosted at the Shout House, an open and spacious community art space beneath the Hawthorne Bridge. The $39 ticket will include dessert, entertainment, tea and gratuity. Guests may arrive at 7:30pm and our show begins promptly at 8pm. Seating is limited..
