The Jewish Project, November 8

25.00

The Jewish Project is a portrait of a Jew through ice cream and storytelling. Jared Goodman weaves personal stories of being a Jew with Jewish history and culture, exploring themes of identity, secularism vs traditionalism, the writings of Isaac Bashevic Singer and Abraham Joshua Heschel, plus some klezmer music too. Pairing storytelling with handmade and inspired ice cream desserts, he aims to combat the spread of anti-Semitism and educate Oregonians on Judaism and Jewishness.

This performance will take place downtown at Ecotrust, located in the Pearl District. Ecotrust is a fantastic, Portland-based organization that inspires innovative thinking and action on economic opportunity, social equity, and environmental well-being. Goodman was awarded one of Ecotrust’s Community Grants to host this performance at their beautiful venue on Thursday, November 8. Guests may arrive at 7:30pm and our show begins promptly at 8pm. The $25 ticket includes storytelling, dessert, and tea. Seating is limited.

*The drawing of Hasidic men is by Jared’s mom, the artist, Jeanne Goodman.
